Georgia Storm History

Georgia Storm was founded in 2014 as a youth club in Carrollton, Georgia. Over the following, 5 years, the club had much success growing the club in quality and in size and locations. As of 2023, Georgia Storm has teams that play in locations in Douglasville, Carrollton, and Villa Rica.

In 2020, the club leaders, driven by General Manager, Stephen Bivens, decided that adding Men's team to the top of its development pyramid was the step they wanted to take, so the club began play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) with its inaugural season in 2021. In their first season, the club finished 2nd place in the Southeast Conference in a great show out of the blocks. In 2023, the club will be entering it's 3rd competitive season, having already played Atlanta United, as well as graduated Andrew Carleton, Kevin Barajas, and Fabian Pekruhl on to professional teams across Europe and the United States.

Season 1 in 2021, the team was led by Head Coach Josh Bivens, with 1st assistant coach, Trent Orndorf, and fitness coach Matt Brooks, who also took charge of the Reserve team that competed in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). The team finished 5-3-2 in the regular season, scoring 26 goals and conceding 9 with 4 clean sheets. In their inaugural playoff appearance, Storm beat Appalachian FC 2-1 to advance to the Southeast Division Championship, losing 2-1 to Georgia Revolution.
