In honor of what would have been Tammy Bivens’ birthday today, we want to reintroduce the Tammy Bivens Memorial Scholarship and continue celebrating the legacy she left within the Georgia Storm community. 🤍 Tammy was a mother, mentor, and lifelong supporter of the game who believed in the impact soccer can have far beyond the field. This scholarship carries that legacy forward by giving Georgia Storm members- players, parents, and families- the opportunity to become USSF Certified Referees and continue growing the game and our community. We are excited to offer another referee course this winter, with the specific date still to be determined. More information will be released by late October. For scholarship information or to apply, please contact Josh Bivens at josh.bivens@georgiastorm.com. Today, we remember Tammy and the lasting impact she continues to have on Georgia Storm. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to Atlanta United for inviting Georgia Storm to experience an incredible VIP experience at the Gullwing Club and Arthur Blanks Suite! As Georgia Storm continues to grow and expand, we are excited to call Atlanta United a friend and partner in our community. We truly appreciate the relationships we are building and the support we’ve received from Micheal Lynch and Will Clayton. Micheal and Will have been incredibly helpful in supporting the transition of George Storm players into the Atlanta United Academy, while also taking the time to understand how Atlanta United can become more involved and connected within our community. These relationships are about more than just soccer- they are about creating opportunities for our players, families, and the next generation of athletes. We are grateful for the hospitality, the conversations and the growing partnership. We look forward to continuing to build this relationship and working together with Atlanta United in the future. Thank you, Atlanta United, for an unforgettable experience and for investing in our players and community! ❤️ 🖤

Congratulation’s, Ace! On behalf of everyone at Georgia Storm, we want to congratulate Ace Pochobradsky on making the Atlanta United Academy roster! 👏🔥⚽ Recently, Ace traveled with the 2013 Atlanta United team to the Netherlands, where he had the incredible opportunity to compete in an international tournament against some of the best clubs in the world, including Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Club Brugge, among others. We are so proud of everything you have accomplished, Ace! Your hard work, dedication, and love for the game have earned you this incredible opportunity. We’re excited to watch you take on this next chapter! #georgiastorm #atlantaunited

On behalf of everyone at Georgia Storm, we want to congratulate Carter Jones on making the Atlanta United Academy roster! Carter has already created some incredible memories with AU, including the opportunity to captain the 2012 team at Liverpool- where they came away with an 1-0 victory! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished, Carter, and we’re excited to watch you take on this next chapter!👏🔥⚽ #georgiastorm #atlantaunited

Our soccer community came together to celebrate the lives of Ava and Faris, surrounded by so much love and support. ❤️⚽ The love and support shown by our players, coaches, families, and community was a beautiful reminder of what Georgia Storm is all about. As we continue our season, we’ll play with Ava and Faris in our hearts, honoring the joy they brought to the game and to everyone around them. We continue to lift the Derbecker family in our thoughts and prayers and hope they feel the love and support that surrounds them. Ava and Faris will always be a part of the Georgia Storm family.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of two beloved members of our Georgia Storm family, Ava and Faris Derbecker. There are no words that can express the sorrow we feel. Ava and Faris were more than athletes- they were teammates, friends, and bright lights within our club. Their kindness, joy, and love for the game touched everyone around them and will never be forgotten. Our hearts are broken for the Derbecker family as they navigate an unimaginable loss. During this difficult time, we ask our Georgia Storm family and community to wrap their arms around Michael, Victoria, Otis, and all who loved Ava and Faris. Let us support them with our prayers, love, and strength in the days and weeks ahead. As coaches, this loss is especially heartbreaking. Ava and Faris were not just players on our fields- they were children we had the privilege of watching grow up over the years. We are honored to have been a small part of their journeys and will always cherish the memories we shared with them. Their smiles, personalities, and passion for soccer left a lasting mark on our coaching staff and the entire Georgia Storm family. We also encourage those who are able to support the Ava and Faris Fund, established in their honor through the Community Foundation of West Georgia. This fund will celebrate their love for soccer by helping provide opportunities for children in our community to play, grow, build friendships, and experience the same sense of belonging that the game gave to Ava and Faris. Through this gift, their memory will continue to open doors for young athletes for years to come. Ava and Faris will forever be a part of the Georgia Storm family. The love they shared, the friendships they built, and the joy they brought to others will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew them. Please keep the Derbecker family in your thoughts and prayers. 💙
